Setting the Valentine's mood

February 9, 2017

Whether you’re a die hard lover of Valentine’s Day, or you’d rather go casual this year, like running around the nation’s capital in your thong.... You have no excuse not to come to the Copa! Below we listed some of the most hilarious Valentine stories. Scroll down and enjoy.

Last year an Austrian 'Romeo' burnt the house down after making a giant heart out of blazing candlesHannes Pisek, 20, from Hoenigsberg in the province of Styria, used 220 candles to make a huge heart on the floor of his flat.  He then lit them and went to pick up his girlfriend from work - but the plan backfired when the flat caught fire. Pisek was left out in the cold as firemen battled to bring the blaze under control. He has now lost his home and his girlfriend - she left him afterwards and has moved back with her parents.

Two years ago Chris took his girlfriend out for a romantic exclusive dinner, since it was Valentine's Day. Halfway through, his aunt called, telling him his Grandma had died.  He had to leave because he was crying so much, leaving his girlfriend with a very pricy bill..

On Valentine's Day in 2014... Cori spent an ungodly amount of money to send her long-distance boyfriend a giant bouquet of roses. Few hours after making a non-refundable payment, he let her know  that they weren't going to work out, and that he was already sleeping with someone else.

Every Valentine’s Day a Nashville campus newspaper has a section for student messages. Last year a young man surprised his girlfriend with roses and dinner at a fancy restaurant. When they returned from their date, she leafed through the paper to see if he had written a note to her. Near the bottom of one page she found: “Bonnie, what are you looking here for? Aren’t dinner and flowers enough? Love, Scott.”
