The New York Fashion week started on February 9th. The Copacabana had the pleasure to host one of the most revolutionary shows that the Mexican designer, Raul Solis, prepared. The guests where able to see the collection that was a mix of high-skimming cheerleader skirts, ballet flats (created in collaboration with Capezio), jersey jumpsuits with zippers looping around seamlessly from the hood to under the crotch, and fingerless latex mittens with miniature harnesses and plenty of complementary metal loops.
Raul Solis, sat down with us to answer a few questions that The Copacabana team had prepared for him:
Q: What made you choose the legendary Copacabana for your Fashion Show?
A: The rooftop, we were looking for a day show. We wanted to take use of all the natural light and we wanted to find a place that was exactly this! It was so easy for us because (Copacabana) provided sound, light and seating. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating to us!
Q: What was the inspiration for this collection?
A: I was looking at event dressing and I feel like the market is so oversaturated with street wear. I really wanted to look at a very niche market. When you go shopping to dress up for an event I feel like that market specifically is so old, there really isn’t anything new or young.
