Five ingredients to improve your event

Planning events is not an easy task. Event planners work long and non-traditional hours to plan and execute all details related to a variety of meeting formats including seminars, conferences, trade shows, executive retreats, incentive programs, entertainment events, conventions, and other programs. Here are some ingredients for all of you who want to start cooking some events! 

 

1. Develop a plan

First thing first, develop a plan. Make sure to be detailed and include timelines, goals and checklists. Select a date that doesn't conflict with any other events. 

 

2. Create a budget.

Set an overall amount and decide on a budgeting tool. You can use a software program or the good old spread sheet. Finally, set-up categories for each budget item you may find some examples  listed below:

- Food 

-Venue expenses 

-Floral and decor 

- Music & Entertainment 

-Rentals 

- Furnishing 

-Marketing 

-Permit & Licenses

4. Create a program

Deliver the information to the attendance in a fun, inspiring way. If you have an important message, make sure people stay focused, Guest have to know what is the purpose of this event, meeting or celebration.  

 

 

5. Entertain, or leave it to the professionals...

Entertainment is the main reason why guests attend to the events. Many people don't realize how important this fact is, especially when it comes to corporate events. You can hire an entertainer! it could be a illusionist, MC, musician or a DJ.  Choosing the right act can take you from run of the mill to exceptional . Entertainment makes people happy.
