Let’s face it, when you hear The Copacabana, you think of the legendary NYC nightclub and the oh-so catchy Barry Manilow song titled “Copacabana.”
While The Copa offers a premium space for both a two floor nightclub and various private events, as of August 2017, the Copa is offering more!
While many inquired, but it was never possible… until now! The Copacabana now offers Salsa dance classes!
Every Friday, from 9pm to 11pm, The Copa is teaming up with The New York Sensual Movement to bring Beginner and Advanced Salsa dance lessons to those who have long awaited them. Following the Salsa lessons, attendees are encouraged to stay as there is a Salsa Party from 11pm-4am in the Copa Lounge as well as a Night Club Party with 2 Live DJ playing Top 40, EDM, RnB, Reggaeton, House and more on our Main Floor.
Originally located at 520 8th Ave in New York, the New York Sensual Movement was founded by a team of five dancers, who opened their own dance studio, called the Sensual Movement Studio in 2015. With their combined love for all things dance, these dancers wanted to make sure they were providing a space to share their passion with students while teaching them their craft.
After attending workshops run by their idols, the founding dance members decided that they wanted to capture a style that has yet to be introduced to New York. This unique style is described as “Sensual Bachata.” Their goal was to take Bachata to a whole new level – very classy, elegant and sensual, and bring that soft touch to New York to share their passion with the students here.
So, get your dancing shoes ready and be sure to RSVP for the next Sensual Bachata dance lesson & after party this Friday!
