The Best Hip-Hop Albums of the Year

Releasing an album is one of the landmarks in the entertainment industry. For whatever reasons, everyone looks forward to the album of their favorite artist(s). In fact, having an album is a means to being successful in the industry. While all the artists have put individual efforts into releasing their albums, some have been rated to be the best due to popular demand. Here is a list of the best hip-hop albums of the year:


Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B: The popular American rapper Cardi B, gained more music lovers when she released her album on April 5, 2018. Though it is mainly a hip-hop album, there are obvious indications of Trap and Latin. The themes in the album include wealth, fame, feminism, Cardi’s rise to fame, as well as success. The first song on the list ‘Get up 10’ primarily reveals Cardi’s past and how she rose to fame and success.


Astro World, Travis Scott: Astro World happens to be the third music video released by Travis Scott. It was released on August 3, 2018. Though it is still a fresh release, there has been a total sale of over 270,000. In the first week of release, it has gained about 349.43m online streams thereby making the album the fifth widely streamed album of the week.


Euphorize, Cupcakke: Upon entry into the entertainment industry, Cupcakke has released three albums with Euphorize being the third. Euphorize was released on January 5. The themes include issues on LGBTQ, self-esteem and the desire for real romance. With 15 different tracks, Cupcakke was able to release her themes effectively.


Fever, Black Milk: Fever was released on February 23, 2018 with tracks focusing on both hip-hop and rap. All 12 tracks were written and produced by Black Milk. Unlike his previous songs, the tracks in this album reveals the new Black Milk who has loosened up to release something different.


Black Panther: The popular film comes with an album which was sang by all-stars. The album is based on the African music culture and also serves as a futuristic expression of the relationship between Africans and Americans.  With up to 14 tracks, the album was able to reveal deep effects.


Everything is Love, The Carters: Everything is love is a collaborative album of the power couple- Beyoncé and JayZ. With no notice or prior announcement, the album was released on June 16, 2018 at the end of the second show in London stadium and has since gained the attention of the populace. The album genre includes hip-hop, R&B and trap.


KYLE, Light of Mine: American rapper KYLE released his debut album on May 18, 2018. The genre of his album includes both hip hop and rap. With 15 tracks, KYLE revealed a whole lot about himself and natural life events.


Pusha T, Daytona:  Daytona was released by Pusha T on May 25, 2018. The genre of the album is mainly focused on hip-hop. Some of the tracks featured Rick Ross and Kanye West. After its release, there has been a total sale of 39,000 albums.
